BIO SHOWCASE of SARAH MURPHY
GRAPHIC DESIGNER | WEB DESIGNER | OWNER of clearmindgraphics

From the time she was very young, she was destined to be a roamer. Her parents had to keep one hand on her at all times for fear she would literally run away and without even thinking to look back. A self-proclaimed daydreamer, Sarah Murphy is never happy being in one place, or doing one task, for too long.

This constant desire for change is what directs her design and she always pushes herself concoct something unique. Family and friends would call her "creative," but Sarah believes that a truly creative person should not classify herself as such.

Instead, she chooses to describe herself as playful and adventurous. Living life with an "If it's not fun, don't do it," attitude, she has traveled the country and cites her biggest personal accomplishment as a 16-hour hike through the Black Canyon in Colorado. Professionally, she is very proud of her constantly expanding portfolio and would describe her design process as puzzle-like. Sarah draws on clients' individual personalities in order to determine their likes and dislikes and then puts them all together to generate a visual solution to fit their needs.

For Sarah, some days are more creative than others, and she cites this as the hardest part of designing for a living. When she can't come up with fresh ideas, she'll go outside and be active for a while before coming back to re-evaluate the project. But one thing is for sure--she doesn't like repetition, so you can always be sure she'll pump out new, innovative solutions to even the trickiest of design dilemmas.

Sarah Murphy holds a BA in Advertising from The Art Institute of California San Diego. Her freelance career includes such companies such as Crown Point Catering, Sporting Dog Photography, Red Door Design House and Campbell Consulting. Sarah is also a former graphic designer for Sun Valley Magazine in Sun Valley, Idaho and Justice & Young Marketing and Public Relations in Cincinnati, Ohio.
